Mathys Tel has revealed Harry Kane played a key role in persuading him to join Spurs on deadline day.
The 19-year-old has surprisingly changed his mind in the final hours of the transfer window, agreeing to join Spurs on loan from Bayern Munich for the rest of the season, just days after rejecting the north London club days earlier.
The young forward had been link with moves to Arsenal and Man Utd before the end of the January window as he sought to leave Bayern Munich due to a lack of gametime.
It also seemed entirely possible the Frenchman would remain with the Bundesliga outfit after rejecting a move to Tottenham on Friday despite the two clubs agreeing on a £50 million deal.

In a video release on Spurs’ official X account, Mathys Tel was ask if he had spoken to Kane about the club.
“He told me it’s a big club with good people, a great stadium, a great training center, and if you go there you can enjoy it,” Mathys Tel replied.
“Everything is positive from Harry Kane.”
Tel is Spurs’ third signing of the January transfer window after the club signed goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky and defender Kevin Danso.
The youngster is sure to get more opportunities at Tottenham than he did at Bayern as the Premier League side are in the midst of a major injury crisis, with attackers Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson among those on the treatment table.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all shown interest in Tel but he has opted to stay at Spurs until the end of the season, despite struggling under Ange Postecoglou this season.
Tel has been limit to just two starts for Bayern this season.
